Exterior Design – Athletic, Confident, Unmistakable.
The BMW X2 is eye-catching – with its shape, its colours and its innovative take on hallmark BMW design features. Among the vehicles within the X family, it is the one designed with the strongest focus on urban environments. This compact Sports Activity Coupé is just under eight centimetres shorter and seven centimetres lower than the X1 – with which it shares its wheelbase – making for dynamic proportions.
Lower Half: Powerful X Model – Upper Half: Dynamic Sports Coupé.
Unlike all other BMW models, the kidney grille for the BMW X2 is wider at the bottom than at the top, emphasizing the car’s broad stance. Viewed from the side, the lower half of the X2 has the body shape of a powerful X model with almost square wheel arches, while the half above the swage line is dominated by elegant coupé-style lines. The familiar Hofmeister kink, rather than being integrated into the rear door, is part of the C-pillar. This makes the low windows, which taper towards the rear, appear even more elongated. The sloping roof line concludes in a large rear spoiler which combines with the spoiler lip on the C-pillar to enhance aerodynamics at the rear, resulting in a drag coefficient of 0.28–0.29.
